Alanya
- Located In South West
TurkeyFamilies and mature couples
are often seen in Alanya as it is
perfect for relaxing holidays. There
are plenty of things for you to do
together, so it is the perfect
resort to spend some time together.
From Dalaman Airport, your transfer
time into Alanya is around one and a
half to 2 hours. This may seem like
a long time, however you will have
plenty of time to see the scenery of
Turkey on your journey, as well as
get an understanding for the
location of your resort and the
location of your accommodation
within the resort. There is no beach
as such in Alanya, however there are
some attractive options nearby.
There are both small and large
hotels available in Alanya. The
larger hotels tend to be quite
modern and you will find many
facilities available.
Plenty Of Sightseeing Excursions
Available
Alanya is home to some brilliant
yacht cruises. They are very
enjoyable and a great way to see
some new scenery of different areas.
You can also try scuba diving which
is an up and coming sport in Alanya.
You can do this with full
instruction and hire the equipment
from a professional diving centre.
Visiting the beaches nearby is
popular as you can spend the day
relaxing, going into the water or
trying water sports. There is plenty
of sightseeing to do both in and
around Alanya. You can go and visit
the ancient sites of Xanthos and
Letoon or even go to the Pamukkale
thermal springs. There is a hidden
canyon which is a brilliant site to
go and see, as well as the sunken
city of Kekova. There are also
plenty of boat trips to go on where
you may be able to get into the
water.
Plenty Of Turkish Cuisine To
Enjoy
There are plenty of fish restaurants
to enjoy, especially by the harbour.
Many of the local restaurants also
offer local dishes which are highly
recommended. There is some
international cuisine such as
Italian, however there is not much.
There are a few bars in Alanya with
live music and DJ\'s. If you wanted
a really lively night, then head
over to Kas for more bars and
nightclubs. There are plenty of
tourist shops for you to look at
where you will find plenty of
souvenirs to take home. There are
also many crafts available, that you
will only find in Alanya. The public
transport in Alanya is very good,
with regular buses to Kas, Patara
and Fethiye.
Beautifully Hot Sunshine
The summer in Alanya is very hot
with temperatures in August hitting
35°C. You will also see over 13
hours a day of pure sunshine.
January and February tend to be the
coldest months, however temperatures
can still reach above 15°C. There
are over 320 days of pure sunshine a
year in Alanya making it one of the
most popular destinations to visit.
The water tends to be very warm as
well making the beach an even more
popular place to go during the day.
It also makes water sports a lot
more enjoyable. From June until
September, you are highly unlikely
to see any rain in the resort. From
December to February you will have
around 5 hours of sunshine a day,
however it can still be quite warm.
There may be the odd shower but it
does not often rain in Alanya. |
