Holidays
in Turkey always offer a fascinating combination
of sun, sea, relaxation, culture and nightlife.
But holidays in Turkey's Antalya region raise
the expectations to a new level. The beaches are
delightful – most are sandy and slope gently
into a sea of pure turquoise, making them
perfect for families with children of all ages,
as well as devoted sun worshippers, beach babes
and couples chilling out after a hectic night on
the town.
Resorts
like Side, with its 10km stretch of glorious
beach, and Alanya which is noted for watersports
including water skiing, scuba diving and
parasailing, provide an excellent contrast to
the Antalya's shingle and stunning cliffs. They
also add the extra dimension of choice, making
the decision to take last minute holidays to
Turkey a very safe bet!
And
there's much more to enjoy, even on a cheap
holiday. Turkey's Antalya coastline was at the
heart of the ancient world, with four august
cities - Aspendos, Side, Perge and Sillyon –
forming important bastions of the Greek,
Persian, Roman and Byzantine empires. Today the
remnants of these civilisations still give
fascinating glimpses into the past, as well as
providing a contrast with the wealth of fine
restaurants, lively bars and clubs, modern
shopping facilities and traditional Turkish
markets selling everything from porcelain to
hand-woven rugs. Truly
the place for all-inclusive holidays.
Antalya
