Eating out in Altinkum

We all need it, we all want it and all strive for the best money can afford. What am I talking about? Food of course, it’s a major part of anyone’s holiday. For those that have not visited Altinkum before they may be tempted to stay in the five star all inclusive hotels in resort, unsure of what culinary delights the resort has to offer. Whilst I don’t knock the all inclusive concept, I can honestly say in Altinkum that it is not needed. Book bed and breakfast or self catering and let your taste buds be manipulated. I am not a critic of those that come to the resort and long for the English breakfast, fish and chips or Sunday dinners. What ever makes you happy I say and there are a wide range of restaurants in resort that offer these. Big Bens on the beach front will serve you up your bacon and eggs, before you head off to the beach for a day lying in the sun. Go back at night time and choose from English, Turkish, Chinese or Indian. Perfect for a family with varying taste buds.

What we are seeing however in the last few years is a different style and experience to dining out in the resort. There is more choice and I have a sneaky suspicion that the resort is on its way to cosmopolitan socialising. I frequently visit a small restaurant on the main road every day just for a beer or two and occasionally a take away. I feel no qualms about walking in and sitting alone in this small family business known as Circus Café. The menu is definitely tempting with a wide range of Italian pastas, pizzas and steaks. One can not help notice the whole experience of entering into this restaurant is unique, original and different from most of the other establishments in resort. Soft music with a calm environment makes you feel at ease and has encouraged customers to come back week after week.

Just round the corner sees a new business to Altinkum this year known as Delicious. It is a café with modern styles and is perfect for a business lunch or relaxing with friends. The one most noticeable difference is the owners have filled a gap in the market. An age old English tradition would be to sit down in the afternoon with a brew and a cake. No where in Altinkum was this possible before. I ended up buying chocolate bars or cakes from the supermarket. Now with a wide range of delicious home baked cakes on offer, I look forward to my afternoon brew and it seems plenty of other people do as well. Don’t believe me then take a look at the guest book on their website. http://www.deli-cious.info/index.php

I could write more reviews on restaurants in resort however we would be here all day. My point is to dare anyone to come to the resort and go home without having enjoyed the experience of dining out in Altinkum. I am infact willing to bet that you would need to sign up to weight watchers upon your return back to the UK. Do you agree with me? If so write in and tell us about your favourite restaurant. Still think there are gaps in the market, then let me know what they are. New business ideas are always welcome.
