Dear Doctor,
I've got to the age where I am sick of people saying I look tired and want to do something about it!
I was thinking of having a face lift or are there any simpler procedures that would make me look better. If it is a face lift I need is that a difficult operation and how long would it take me to recover?
Dear J,
Obviously I would need to see you before deciding if you need surgery or non-surgical procedures such as botox or fillers. If we decided you do need a face lift I use the minimal invasive short scar technique. The actual operation is done under general anaesthetic and takes about two
hours, it involves just one nights stay in the hospital. Pain and bruising after the op are minimal and the healing period just one week.
If however we decide you don't need a face lift we can use botox and or fillers to make you look fresher and younger. These are both very simple
procedures, just injections into the face,
and when done correctly have very effective results.
Hi Doctor,
I would love to get rid of my fatty bits! I'm thinking of having
liposuction, how much fat could you remove in one go?
Dear S,
Liposuction is not a way of losing weight. It is a method to improve the shape and contours of the body. There shouldn't be more than 4-5 litres of fat removed in one
go, this keeps risks to a minimum. If you have a lot of excess fat it is wise to try and lose as much weight as you can before surgery.
Dear Doctor,
I don't think I need facial surgery yet but would love to get rid of the saggy skin under my eyes?
Dear A,
Surgery to remove excess skin under the eyes is a very simple procedure done under local anaesthesia requiring no overnight stay in hospital. The results are very effective
